Aaron Beadle

Starting on CMP I have become more and more interested in radio over my life. I have always had a thing for buttons and things that flashed from a young age so being in a studio, I was in my element! Everything seems to jump and flash! However after becoming involved with CMP, I saw there was much more to radio than buttons!! It can help people, give them information and enjoyment.

My first show I was a ball of nerves, I couldn't keep still and even today I still get those butterflies before a live show and I think I always will but I now see it as talking to a person, not an audience. I feel that if I have it in my mind that I am talking to one person, then not only does it help me (as I don't shake uncontrollably!), I make what I am saying more personal to the listener and I feel this is key.

So take it from me, there is more to radio than a few flashing buttons! It's brilliant and I love it! There is another side to me though, since starting up Reach as an Restricted Service License station, I have got into the 'behind the scense' stuff with all the technical area and setting up a studio and a station. It's hard work but well worth it. I now balance the two quite well but I always know my fascination of buttons would always rear it's head again!

That is just a little bit about me, I don't want to bore you with any more or scare you with what goes on in my head - I normally give a lot away in my shows anyway. Just remember to tune in :-)
